Myofascial Cupping
What is facial?
Sheets of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating or binding together muscles, organs or other soft tissue of the body.
What are the benefits of myofascial cupping and what does it do?
– Rips through and “resets”it, coursing it to restructure itself
– The fascia is rehydrated, it’s going for a more dense state to a more fluid state
– Affects lymphatic drainage and sedates the automatic nervous system
– Increases range of motion
– Passively stretches the muscles and soft tissue
– Creates vascular flushing
– Breaks down adhesions and scar tissue
– Assist in posture
– Treat Plantar Fasciitis and Heel spurs
How’s myofascial cupping preferred?
There are two types of myofascial cupping:
1. Chinese cupping using glass cups and fire to create a suction on the skin, cups are left on skin for up to 10 minutes and creates a new rich blood supply to the area, pulling toxins out of the body and releases any tension. Dark red marking or bruising can occur with this treatment and can last up to a week.
2. Dry cupping using plastic cups and a hand air pump to create a suction. The therapist moves the cups along the skin releasing any adhesions and to reconstruct the fascia, promotes new blood supply and releases tension. Because theses cups are not sitting on the skin for a long period of time, markings on skin are reduced, may have 2-3 days after the treatment.
